My first app: PicStroom is live in App Store

Hi folks,

My first app (iPad only) PicStroom is live in App Store.

Stroom is Dutch for stream. PicStroom allows you to add any website (that publishes its pictures over RSS) and then dynamically view and keep updated on the images from the site in a stream within the app. You can also link and save to Dropbox folders.

It’s simple to use.
It springs to life when started.
No accounts or login boxes to bother with!

Its a collaboration between me (developer based in Dublin) and Jeroen Hermkens (designer based in Rotterdam). We've only ever met over iChat/Skype and email!

If anybody could take sometime out of your busy day and take a look, i'd really appreciate any comments/feedback.

Typically, its only out a few hours but I've found a small crashing bug (a mistyped @selector() call) that somehow I missed in final testing. Hopefully Apple will push out my fix quickly!

I recently joined X-Cake and am looking forward to playing an active role in this group.

Cheers,
Damien

Fair play to Apple -- they pushed my bug fix out quickly (same day).
Pleased to see PicStroom is in "New and Noteworthy" in Photography category and is in top 10 free photo apps in many app stores. Its currently Top 15 of iPad apps across all categories on App Shopper.

Current PicStroom position on US app store. Just as pleased that its doing better on Irish store!

Some great feedback on Twitter, view by searching for "PicStroom"

It feels great to be sharing the top 10 photo list with companies such as Adobe, LIFE, HP and Apple.

great job Damien!
Thanks Roland!

Just looked at the video. That's a very nice slick interface. I like the menu overlay!!

Best of luck with it. I'll give it a spin during the week!

Looks fantastic! Well done. I particularly like the floating menu.
Thanks Damian. Yeah, the floating menu gets a lot of good feedback. I wasn't sure about it myself at the start! But its a key design feature at this stage :-)
