Hi All,
I'm getting some sales in Japan, and wondering if anyone has successfully managed to register with iTunes and avoid the 'default' 20% withholding tax from all App sales in the Japan iTunes store?
I just registered with iTunes to request to 'avoid' this automatic tax, and received the Form 3 to complete, sign and return to Apple Inc in Texas, who will then send it on to Japan on our behalf.
This Form 3 is quite confusing...so any 'heads-up' from anyone on this forum would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

Many thanks for your reply. That's really good to know that you had no problems with it.
Did you fill in fields 3 (Details of Payer of Royalties) and 4 ( Details of Royalties Received...) ?

Have you read the tips sheet? You can ignore most of the document and Apple will look after it for you.
Section 2
Fill in your complete name, address, and phone number in only one section – EITHER the “Individual” area OR the “Corporation or other entity” section, whichever applies. Do NOT fill in both fields.
Sections 3, 4 and 5
Apple completes these sections. Please leave them blank.
Sections 6 and 7
This section only relates to US-based companies; do not fill in this section.
Section 7
Make sure to sign and date in this area. This form is not completed until you do so.

My mistake - I thought that these tips were in relation to the initial 'request' for the Form 3 with iTunes Connect, and not the Form 3 itself. D'oh!
Thanks for clarifying. Much appreciated.
