X-Cake

Cocoaheads Ireland and Northern Ireland

Hi guys, my first post. Been an iPod Touch owner for almost 2 years, iPhone owner for 6 months and itching to write apps for the iPhone/iPod Touch since I first heard they released the SDK. Finally bought a Mac a couple of weeks ago and have been hacking away following tutorials and reading books. I feel like I'm getting somewhere now and have to say I was surprised at how straight-forward creating apps really is. I suppose the hard part is making a good app right!?

Anyway, I joined X-Cake to talk to other Irish app developers and share experiences/problems/successes with whoever I can.

Thanks, Conor

Good luck with it, been doing the same myself. Found the Apress book(s) to be the best, starting with "Beginning iPhone Development". Though, in a Homer Simpson moment, I did have to stop reading it and go and read "Learning Objective-C on the Mac" first. And then I had stop reading that and go back to read "Learn C on the Mac". Caught up on myself finally :-)

Haha, yeah I've got the Apress book and also Learning Objective C 2.0 which is useful at times when the Apress book doesn't get down to the nitty gritty. Cheers for the other book suggestions though, might check em out if I can't get what I need from what I have.
Welcome!
Howdy :)
